1st time in Taipei, PLK Paddlers competed with 37 other teams for Dragonboat Men’s Open at the annual Taipei International Dragonboat Festival held at Happy Summer Paradise Waterfront.
The 26 pax team consisting of only 6 with overseas race experience and 8 with less than a year rowing experience competed fiercely in the races and managed to clinch the 5th place. 1st place goes to Taipei's National Team, Wan Neng Technological University.

It was no easy task for the PLK team as they had no rowing experience in the Taipei-style race, something they are not familiar with as to the IDBF rules and regulations.
The PLK team did very well despite all the unfamiliar conditions, strong current and temperature going as high as 35 degree Celsius. Though they did not set any record in the race, they had indeed build the team's name in Taipei emerging first in the heats and the minor finals.
Though getting 5th Place, this will not be the last time Taipei sees them, they will be back next year, Stronger, Tougher, and Faster.
